Chase Recap:
We started the day off with no hot water at the hotel after very little sleep. We’d go on to drop south of I-20 in Mississippi to observe two large tornadoes. The first tornado was near Bay Springs with the second one being near Soso.

Hotel Problems
We arrived to our hotel around 3am from chasing the Poplar Bluff Missouri Tornado. Unbeknownst to us, there was no hot water. Ended up not getting a shower before bailing out the door at 9 to chase. We headed down I-22 towards Tupelo and picked up US-45 south.
12Z Observed Soundings
A quick stop in Macon for food and gas and we headed south to I-20 and then to Newton to wait for a tornado warned supercell coming our way. The radar presentation fell apart as it approached Newton, so we continued south to the next storm.

Bay Springs, Mississippi Tornado
We neared our next storm south of the town of Bay Springs, MS. The tornado seemed to turn to the left somewhat as it came to us, but we were able to find some clearings to witness a fat cone tornado move through.
Soso Mississippi Tornado
Yet another storm to the south prompted another drop south. The road network was not very conducive to staying up with the fast storm motions.
We positioned west of Soso and were able to witness a heavily rain-wrapped tornado as it went by. We tried to follow it, but the rainfall was some of the heaviest I have ever encountered.

Cajun Food in Vicksburg and heading home
We gave up after falling way behind near Bay Springs. We started heading towards I-20 in Jackson and west to Vicksburg where we had some Cajun food just off the interstate. The food was delicious and we headed back to east Texas where we stayed for the night before heading the rest of the way home on Sunday.
