These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website https://benholcomb.com and any domains that redirect to or alias it (collectively, the “Site”), operated by Ben Holcomb Storm Chasing LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Site

The Site provides informational content, including storm chasing observations, weather-related articles, photos, videos, and technical discussions for educational and entertainment purposes only. You may view and access the content for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise expressly permitted below.

You agree not to: (a) copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site’s content except as expressly permitted in Section 2 or with our prior written permission; (b) use the Site for any unlawful purpose; or (c) attempt to interfere with the Site’s operation.

2. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, images, videos, and other materials, is owned by Ben Holcomb Storm Chasing LLC or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. © 2007-2026 Ben Holcomb Storm Chasing LLC. All Rights Reserved.

Limited License for Small Creators

We encourage smaller creators on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and similar social media to use our content. Subject to the conditions below, we grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to individuals and small non-commercial or modestly-monetized creators (typically those with audiences under ~500,000 subscribers/followers or equivalent reach, and not large media corporations) to:

  • Incorporate short clips (generally under 30 seconds) of our videos into their own original videos or posts;
  • Monetize those videos through platform ad revenue, sponsorships, or other revenue features, provided our content is not the main focus of the video and is only a supporting element within a larger, original creation (e.g., reaction, commentary, educational breakdown, compilation with substantial added value, etc.).
Conditions (all must be met):
  • Our visible watermark must remain fully intact and clearly legible throughout the entire clip, or you must add a prominent, similar watermark that clearly credits “Ben Holcomb” or “Ben Holcomb Storm Chasing” or “benholcomb.com” (creative but readable watermarks are allowed);
  • You must provide clear attribution/credit in the video description, caption, and/or on-screen (e.g., “Clip courtesy of Ben Holcomb Storm Chasing – benholcomb.com / @oklahomachaser” with a link);
  • The use must not misrepresent our footage, imply endorsement by us, or suggest the clip is your own original storm chase footage;
  • The video must add significant original commentary, editing, context, or creative value — reposting our videos with minimal changes or as the primary content is not allowed.

This license does not extend to:

  • Large TV broadcast networks, cable channels, streaming services, or major media corporations (these require separate written licensing agreements and fees);
  • Full videos or long-form reuse of our content;
  • Commercial use where our footage is the main selling point or primary content;
  • Removal, cropping, or obscuring of the watermark;
  • Any use that competes with or substitutes for our own content.

We reserve the absolute right to revoke this license at any time, for any reason, and to request removal of any video. Any use outside these parameters requires our prior written permission.

Except as expressly permitted above, you may not use, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
